Tips for fellow Devops
Junior
Getting started is never easy, especially in the fast-paced environment that is IT. If you see
yourself as a DevOps engineer, there is some stuff you have to learn. Our picks are Git, Linux, Python or Ruby, Docker, and cloud providers like AWS.
We recommend two great sources where you can learn all of that and much more
https://www.katacoda.com
https://linuxacademy.com
Both contain courses on a wide range of topics and provide playground environments
which you can use to practice.

Are you tired of manual work? Is your infrastructure not as robust as you thought?
Time to step up your game! In our opinion, this is what you need to learn:
OS configuration management – Ansible,
Infrastructure management – Terraform,
CI/CD tool – Jenkins,
Monitoring – Prometheus/Grafana,
Logs management – ELK stack.
The above toolset will allow you to create remarkable deployments!
Senior
Let’s be honest – if you consider yourself a senior DevOps, we will not point you to any
specific learning sources. You probably already know what you where you want to go and where your weaknesses lie. Still, we can show you what we use to broaden our knowledge and keep in touch with the latest stuff in the industry.
To know what’s going on, we mainly use Hackernews and Medium. The first one is a link
aggregator and discussion board, not only for IT-specific stuff but also for science, news,
and politics. The latter is a blog post collection site with high-quality knowledge and
inspiration.
We must warn you, however, that it’s easy to go down the rabbit hole with these two!
