Rinse and repeat: maintenance, backups, testing environment, support

Last but not least, your e-commerce store requires constant maintenance and development. Even if in the beginning it seems simple enough, it is going to get tougher along with the growth of the e-commerce store.

Tips to stay on top of the game:

  • Cooperate with a developer, either in-house or a freelancer. Even if you managed to set up a store with no-code tools, it is more than likely that something will malfunction sooner or later and you will need fast technical support in order to fix it.
  • Create backups. Talk to your hosting provider to make sure how often they do that and whether it is an automated process. This will protect you from anything that could go wrong, potential DDoS-es, or other manifestations of cybercrime.
  • If you’re implementing new solutions or features, remember to utilize the testing environment first. Do not operate on live production. It might go really wrong on your e-commerce storeĀ

Above all, take note of your customer’s feedback and analytics. The former will allow you to understand what’s visibly important to them and the latter will tell you what they really love or dislike based on their behaviors.
