Daniel created the learning platform Rock the JVM, which teaches Scala, Kotlin, big data and lots of other tools and libraries. He has taught ~80000 developers all over the world, and trained teams at Google, Microsoft, Apple, Adobe and other big companies. He also made a learning platform called Coder Prodigy which teaches kids to code. When he’s not coding or teaching, he plays guitar – including an absurd amount of Ed Sheeran.
In this talk, we’ll discuss essential principles for productive and effective development with the ZIO stack, and we’ll demonstrate a blueprint and approach for building end-to-end, full-stack applications in Scala 3, using ZIO, ZIO HTTP, Tapir and friends, working live at Rock the JVM.

The Functional World conference aims to improve learning & knowledge sharing by meeting with other people passionate about functional programming. On Functional World, you can find topics related to all functional languages Scala, Clojure or Haskell to name a few.
Our event on the meetup platform has already gained over 1200 members. You can see the articles, access videos, and get information about members. These numbers keep growing and allow the event to develop and expand its horizons.
If you’re interested in upcoming Scalac events, you should also check out our Meetup page.
The first of the event created by Scalac was the Tricity Scala User Group (TSUG), which allowed for the support and association of local societies. However, we wanted to broaden the horizons beyond the Scala theme. Therefore, our team took up topics related to functional programming and created the Functional Tricity Meetup.
During the pandemic, Scalac decided to broadcast the event online and changed its name to Functional World and involve programmers from different parts of the globe.
