Functional World #18 | Better Scala Builds with the Mill Build Tool

We’re back again with Functional World, and this time we’ve got Li Haoyi in the house. He’ll be conducting a live coding session, demonstrating how Mill can make your Scala builds faster, simpler, and less painful compared to SBT. If you’ve ever struggled with Scala build tools, this one’s for you – come hang out and learn from the guy behind Mill and the “com-lihaoyi” stack.

Zurich Scala Enthusiasts | Scala talks

Zurich Scala is hosting another in-person meetup, and this one’s all about functional programming and practical Scala! Expect a mix of real-world code, functional concepts, and the usual post-talk discussions with fellow Scala developers. If you’re into Scala or just curious, come hang out – always a good time, and you might even learn something new.

Scala-Pils 

ScalaBin’s monthly Scala-Pils meetup is happening again on June 4th in Oslo. It’s all about casual programming chats over good beer with good people. No formal talks – just a relaxed evening with fellow Scala enthusiasts. If you’re in town, swing by Nedre Foss Gård and join the conversation. 

Amsterdam.scala | Talks and Drinks with Haoyi Li 

Amsterdam Scala is hosting another chill meetup this June, all about Scala, functional programming (FP), and whatever else comes up when Scala devs gather. It’s at ING HQ again, so expect some great conversations, interesting tech topics, and possibly some drinks. If you’re in Amsterdam, this is an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow Scala enthusiasts and exchange ideas.

Women in Scala | London Scala User Group

London Scala is hosting a special Women in Scala meetup – this one’s all about exploring functional programming through creative coding. It’s a beginner-friendly session using Creative Scala, so if you’re curious about Scala or just want a chill, hands-on coding night, this is for you.

Krakow Scala User Group | Scala Meetup after Lambda Days

Krakow Scala User Group is back! Although they will share more details later, we know for sure that Martin Odersky will join as one of the speakers, alongside Zainab, a functional programming enthusiast and educator, currently working on aquascape.
